Ontario Grape and Wine Research Inc.
Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP)
It is anticipated that the next round of Federal funding under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP) for research is set to commence in spring 2023. As such, OGWRI has agreed to pursue a new cluster with their partners in the Canadian Grapevine Certification Network (CGCN): British Columbia, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
Each province will collect and approve submissions through their own funding body and these will be submitted to CGCN, who will lead the application for the grape and wine science cluster.
OGWRI is now accepting proposal applications for consideration for the Ontario portion of the national cluster under the Canadian Agricultural Partnership. All proposals must align with at least one of the 2022 Research Priorities.
OGWRI has provided a document that outlines the research priorities in each of the grape growing provinces. Collaboration with researchers and institutions in other provinces is strongly encouraged.
Note: This funding is contingent on Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada formally announcing federal funding for a science cluster program.
Please note that research activities carried out in the context of COVID-19 need to adhere to the University of Guelph COVID-19 research principles, policies, guidelines and processes as they may be updated from time to time and communicated on the Office of Research web-page.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
