The newest award added to the Canadian Public Relations Society's (CPRS) National Awards program is the SSHRC Award of Excellence.

Description

As storytellers, post-secondary communications professionals craft narratives about their school, its culture and its contribution to Canadian society. The goal of this award is to recognize the hard work put into innovative and creative communications efforts aimed at promoting the impact of social sciences and humanities research.

Eligibility

Submission Information:
Unlike the CPRS National Awards of Excellence, the SSHRC Award of Excellence does not require membership with CPRS or an entry fee in order to apply.

Each submission must have been planned, produced and completed within a period of two years prior to the entry deadline. A project may have been started prior to the previous two years, however, the evaluation/completion of the project must have been within the last two years.

Categories

  • Small institutions (less than 3,000 full-time students)
  • Medium institutions (between 3,000 and 10,000 full-time students)
  • Large institutions (more than 10,000 full-time students)

Register For Online Awards Submission. Once you have signed in, click the "Add SSHRC Award" button at the bottom of the web page and follow the instructions. 

As there is no entry fee for the SSHRC Award, please be careful when submitting your entry through the online portal. Other award categories require an entry fee and there is a "Submit & Pay" button for those entries. Once you've uploaded your submission through the online portal, please omit the following "Submit & Pay" step. How to Apply

Submission Summary

Each entry form must include a maximum three (3) page executive summary. Using the R-A-C-E formula as your outline, your summary should include a brief description of the following areas:

  • Research
  • Analysis, planning and strategy
  • Communication, execution and production, including budget and human or other resources
  • Evaluation and measurement

Supporting Information

All supporting information should be uploaded on the CPRS website and only three (3) attachments will be allowed per submission. Each attachment should not exceed 25MB and should also not exceeds more than 50 pages.
