Update on University of Guelph Research Phase-in

With the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph region entering Stage 2 of Ontario’s re-opening plan, the University of Guelph can begin the gradual phase-in of research activity that was curtailed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A Research Phase-In Framework unique to our university has been created to guide the resumption of more of our research activities and is posted on the Office of Research 2019 Novel Coronavirus Information website.

This framework should be used by colleges, academic units, and researchers to develop and approve the plans necessary to start research activities requiring the use of University of Guelph operated facilities (including offices and field sites) beginning Monday, June 29, 2020.

Meanwhile, the current guidelines are still in effect, meaning exemption forms are required for research that begins between June 12 to 29.

Beyond June 29 this document should be used to guide further, measured phase-in of research.
