If you have been invited to participate in this program, you will need to submit a copy of the proposal and signed OR-5 for review prior to submission to the Eligible Applicant.  Researchers are encouraged to contact the Office of Research ASAP for program information and assistance with completing your proposal.

AAFC has announced a new deadline under the Industry-led R&D Stream of the AgriInnovation Program for Agri-Science Projects.

The objective of the AgriInnovation program is to accelerate the pace of innovation by supporting R&D activities in AgriInnovation and facilitating the demonstration, commercialization and/or adoption of innovative products, technologies, practices and/or services.  The overall Program budget from April 1, 2013 to March 31, 2018 is $468 million.


The University is NOT an eligible applicant under this program but CAN be a sub-contractor to an Eligible Applicant (e.g. for-profit and not-for-profit organizations that are legal entities).

Maximum Project Value

$5M  AAFC will contribute 50-75% of total eligible costs based on the status of the applicant.  Total government funding can NOT exceed 75% of eligible costs.

Project Duration

The Industry-led Research and Development Stream will expire on March 31st, 2018.    It is strongly suggested that research activities relative to a Project be completed by January 31st, 2018 to allow time for performance reporting by March 31, 2018.
