For More Information
For more information on the eligibility of candidates and preparing a nomination package, please visit NSERC’s nomination page.
The program allows up to six (6) nominations from the University of Guelph that are demonstrably outstanding.
Normally paid in two installments of $125,000 per year.
The start date of the Fellowship should be between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.
Special Notes: For nominations in engineering or the applied sciences, nominators should consult the NSERC Guidelines for the Preparation and Review of Applications in Engineering and the Applied Sciences, and prepare the nomination accordingly.
The nominators are responsible for assembling the required documentation, which must follow NSERC’s General Presentation format. Only the documents requested by NSERC will be made available to the selection committee.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
Please send an email to email@example.com notifying of your intention to submit a nomination by the end of the day Monday May 25, 2015, so we can manage the quota if necessary. Should you seek AVPR or VPR signature on a letter of endorsement, please send a draft letter along with your nomination.
How to Apply
How to nominate: The nomination process involves three people: (i) the nominator(s); the executive head of the university; and the nominee. The nominator(s) write(s) a letter that explains why the nominee deserves consideration for the Fellowship. The executive head of the university provides a letter endorsing the nomination. The nominee prepares the documentation identified on the nomination page.
As was confirmed by NSERC in previous years, nomination letters are to be endorsed by the executive head of the University. Please note, College Deans can serve as the executive head for the purposes of these nominations (as well as the AVPR and/or VPR).
How to submit nominations: Nominations can be submitted by fax: 613-996-2589 or electronically via Secure Submissions for NSERC’s Innovative Collaborations and Science Promotion Programs. Documents must be submitted as a single document in PDF format.
