National Pork Board
Request for Proposals – General Call 2016
For More Information
The National Pork Board is soliciting research proposals dealing with the following categories: animal Science, Animal Welfare, Pork Safety, Pork Quality, Public Health, Swine health, and Sustainability. All proposals submitted must address at least one of the specific research topics of interest described in the individual solicitation descriptions (see website link below).
Values vary under the solicitation descriptions. There are no exact funding limits for submitted proposals but the budget request should be appropriate and justified for the work that is being proposed. In most of the solicitations, researchers are encouraged to find matching funds or in-kind contributions when possible.
Project funding will begin May 1, 2016. Projects may be multi-year. Newly submitted multi-year proposals should provide a clear overall vision and objectives for the entire project with a detailed plan of work and budget outline for each of the proposed years. Requests for 2nd year funding must be resubmitted.
Selections will occur in February and notification of awards will occur in March, 2016.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
Applicant submits proposal via the National Pork Board website.
