Description

The Banting Research Foundation awards to outstanding new investigators in any area of medical research who are within the first three years of their independent appointment at a university or research institute in Canada. The intent is to provide seed funding so that applicants are able to gather pilot data to enhance their competitiveness for other sources of funding.

Eligibility

New investigators within the first three years of their independent appointment; have not been awarded by their institution more than $150,000 in start-up funding; have not been awarded more than $50,000 per annum in external operating funds at the application deadline date. 

Funding Availability

Up to $25,000 – 5-6 award annually

External Deadline

How to Apply

Email the application and attachment PDF to: banting.foundation@utoronto.ca and mail or courier your original hard copy along with original signatures immediately (next day or shortly after) to the Banting Research Foundation. The application must be accompanied by a letter of nomination from the applicant’s host department or division head.
