The Mitacs Globalink Research award supports research collaborations for student travel to the following select partner countries: Brazil, China, France (French Universities or Inria Research Centres), India, Mexico and Tunisia.  Projects are open in all disciplines. The award helps faculty and students in Canada expand their research networks through international collaborations. Graduate students in France based at French institutions and Inria Research Centres can do research in Canada. 


Senior undergraduate, graduate students (Canadian citizen, permanent resident or international student) and faculty at Canadian universities in all disciplines to undertake projects in accredited universities (see list of partner countries above). Students cannot undertake a research project at an institution where they have previously completed a degree.  For eligible partners please see:

Funding Availability

$5,000 in research award to Canadian supervisor for student travel expenses for all countries except France; $7,000 for Universities in France. Funds are sent to the home or host supervisor. Inria Research Centre also provides €540 monthly stipend.
