Energy Innovation Program (EIP): Clean Energy Innovation Component

Description

The Energy Innovation Program (EIP) supports innovation in the clean energy sector by providing funding for research, development (R&D) and demonstration (collectively, RD&D) projects.  The Program’s objective is to support energy technology innovation to produce and use energy more cleanly and efficiently. Please see the sponsor’s website for a full list of strategic priority areas for which proposals are being requested.

Eligibility

Full time faculty at Canadian academic institutions

Maximum Project Value

  1. Research and Development Projects

The Program may pay up to 75% of Total Project Costs per project, up to a maximum amount of five million dollars ($5,000,000.00).  The minimum funding requested per project is three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00).

  1. Demonstration Projects and Front End Engineering Design Studies (FEED)

The Program may pay up to 50% of Total Project Costs per project, up to a maximum amount of five million dollars ($5,000,000.00).  The minimum funding requested per project is three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000.00).

Indirect Costs

15% as per program guidelines

Project Duration

Projects will be eligible for program funding from the time an applicant is notified their project has been selected to proceed until March 31, 2018.

How to Apply

Applicants are requested to complete and submit the information form located on the sponsor’s website.   Upon submission of the information form, an Applicants’ Guide and Proposal template will be sent to the applicant via e-mail.

The applicant is responsible for submitting their proposal to the Sponsor in accordance with the Sponsor’s submission guidelines.
