Description

The Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and Physical Sciences (MPS) division invites applications for targeted grants to Institutes. The program is intended to support established institutes or centers in mathematics and physical sciences through funding to strengthen contacts within the international scientific community. The aim is to enable institutes to extend and enhance their mission; this program will not provide primary support for operating or establishing an institute.  

Eligibility

Faculty in mathematics and physical sciences.

Funding Availability

A typical targeted grant to an institute provides funding for three to five years at a level of $100,000 to $200,000 per year, which includes 20 percent in indirect costs to the institute.

Three to five years. 

Special Notes

Funding decisions will be announced by December 31, 2016; and funding will begin no later than July 1, 2017.
