SSHRC Insight Grant / Insight Development Grant Writing Workshop

Description

This workshop will include grant writing tips for the Insight Grant 2016 competition (registration deadline anticipated in August 2016) and the Insight Development Grant 2017 competition (application deadline anticipated in January 2017); a presentation from SSHRC; and a demonstration of the adjudication process occurring at SSHRC led by review committee members. The workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to interact with U of G faculty who have recently served, or are currently serving on SSHRC review committees. A more detailed agenda and any workshop materials to be reviewed in advance of the workshop will be provided to participants who RSVP.

NEW! This workshop will include presentations on crafting data management plans, incorporating open access into grant applications and integrating knowledge mobilization into your application and research program. Prospective applicants in the 2016 Insight and 2017 Insight Development competitions who wish to have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with U of G SSHRC review committee members to discuss their plans are encouraged to indicate this interest in their RSVP for the workshop, specifying the program (IG or IDG) and committee they intend to apply to.

In providing your RSVP, also include any questions or topics you hope the workshop will address.

What is Research Alerts?

Research Alerts is a communications technology that allows UoG faculty, staff and students to stay up to date on news from the Office of Research. Through Research Alerts, subscribers receive emails related to research funding opportunities, workshops and events, policies and more. Each subscriber sets individual preferences to indicate the topics and categories of information that are of interest to them. When a message (Alert) is published in the Office of Research that matches the subscriber's selected preference categories and topics, it is e-mailed directly to the subscriber. Because this is a web-based technology, the Research Alerts site can also be searched using the search fields, or browsed through the topics by category.
