New Funding Allows U of G to Pioneer Advances in Climate Smart Agriculture and Genomics

The University of Guelph has received $6.6 million in federal funding from Genome Canada [1] to launch two new genomics hubs: the Agricultural Genomics Action Centre [2] and the Climate Smart-Data Collaboration Centre [3]. With additional partner contributions, the total investment exceeds $15.8 million over five years. These hubs will advance climate-smart agriculture and genomics research, enhancing sustainability, resilience and economic growth in Canada’s agri-food sector.
