University of Guelph researchers found that an 85-day, 8,000-kilometre cycling trip significantly reduced Parkinson’s disease symptoms in a 57-year-old man. Published in Physiological Reports [1], the study offers new insight into the impact of intense aerobic exercise on PD. It suggests greater-than-expected benefits and raises questions about optimal exercise intensity for symptom relief.
