PESTICIDE ILLUMINATION

The picture depicts the imaging of pesticide-treated large green lentils using a fluorescent microscope. This microscope uses an external light source to excite and begin fluorescence in a material. Some pesticides contain innately fluorescent molecules, letting them fluoresce without the addition of extrinsic fluorophores. Hence the image analysis helps in the detection of pesticides in a sample.
