Arboretum Road Closed

January 14, 2008 - Campus Bulletin

Arboretum Road east of the information kiosk is now closed to vehicular traffic. The road is being turned into a promenade for pedestrians and cyclists only, with construction continuing in the spring.

The Arboretum visitor parking lot, located by the information kiosk at the entrance of Arboreum Road, will remain open for people wishing to park their cars and access the arboretum by bicycle or on foot.

The Arboreum Centre is accessible by car via two entrance/exits located on College Avenue and on Victoria Road.

“Creating a pedestrian promenade follows up on the Arboretum master plan’s recommendation to incorporate an even greater emphasis on walking and cycling by closing Arboretum Road to vehicles and creating a 'green' core,” said Prof. Alan Watson, Arboretum director.
