U of G Student Named Among Top Skaters

U of G student Drew Doughty, who helped Canada capture gold at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships and was named top defenceman at the tournament, has now been named one of North America's top skaters.

The National Hockey League's Central Scouting Service placed Doughty No. 2 in its mid-term ranking of players eligible for this year's entry draft.

Doughty, who plays for the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm, has seven goals and 31 points this season.

During Canada's gold-medal-winning game at the World Juniors last weekend, he had four assists. He hails from London, Ont.
