U of G Wrestlers Headed to World Championships

Two U of G wrestlers will be representing Canada at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Istanbul, Turkey, after winning the Canadian Junior Wrestling Championships.
Alan Moffat and Allison Leslie, both Gryphon rookies, won in their respective weight categories during the national tournament, which was held at U of G's Mitchell Athletics Centre. They will both compete in Istanbul July 29 to Aug. 3.
Moffat won the 55-kilogram weight category. This season he won the Ontario University Athletics (OUA) 57-kg category and was named OUA Rookie of the Year. He also won a bronze medal at the Canadian Interuniversity Sports championships.
Leslie won the women's junior 67-kg weight class. She was the defending champion in that category. She also won a silver medal at the OUA championships.
