Fire Prevention Exercise Makes Headlines

September 25, 2009 - In the News

A "live burn" exercise put on by U of G's Fire Prevention officers was featured on CTV news last night. The demonstration was to show students how fast their residence rooms can go up in flames and how much time they have to get out. The exercise involved University fire prevention officers building a mock student residence room on Johnston Green, complete with discarded furniture from University residences, and setting it on fire to show how quickly fire can spread.
