April 30, 2010 - Campus Bulletin

Campus flags will be at half-mast Monday to mark the Saturday memorial service for Department of Computing and Information Science (CIS) professor Mieso Denko, who died April 25.

Prof. Denko joined the U of G faculty in 2002, teaching in the distributed computing program at Guelph-Humber. He received the Professor of the Year Award from the Guelph-Humber Student Association in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Hana, and three children.

A funeral service will be held May 1 at noon at the West End Church of God of Prophecy Worship Centre, 1344 Martin Grove Rd., Etobicoke. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In keeping with the traditions of the family, CIS is collecting money towards a gift for the family in lieu of flowers. For information, contact Prof. Deb Stacey at dastacey@uoguelph.ca.

A tribute to Prof. Denko is posted on the CIS website.
