Classes in Axelrod Relocated

October 21, 2010 - Campus Bulletin

Starting Monday, Oct. 25, classes held in the original portion of the Axelrod Building (the section facing Gordon Street) will be relocated for the rest of the semester because of anticipated excessive noise levels during the next construction phase.

Five classrooms in the building are affected: Axel 100, 117, 200, 259 and 309.

As space is limited on campus, classes will be moved to various locations.

Axel 100 classes will be held in the East Town Hall located in the East Townhouse student residence complex.

Classes held in Axel 200 will move to a facility in the government complex at 1 Stone Rd. (near the northwest corner of Gordon Street and Stone Road). Students are asked to access the facility only via entrances located off Stone Road, which will be clearly marked to distinguish the entrance and exit doors. The University is leasing only the classroom space in the complex, so there is no access to the parking lots, cafeteria and/or beverage services. The bicycle racks outside the building are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other affected classes will move to Macdonald Institute and to the MacKinnon, Animal Science and Nutrition, J.D. MacLachlan and Crop Science buildings.

A complete list of class relocations is available on the registrar’s office website. The changes will appear soon on student schedules and online in registrarial services.

Directional signs will be placed along common campus travel routes, as well as at the East Town Hall and 1 Stone Rd. locations.

The University apologizes for the inconvenience and asks students, faculty and staff for patience and understanding during the remaining construction phases.
