Flags to Be at Half-Mast Thursday

Campus flags will be at half-mast Thursday to mark the funeral service for Roberto Poma. A faculty member and neurology specialist in the Department of Clinical Studies, Prof. Poma, 41, died Nov. 15 of an acute brain hemorrhage.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St., Guelph. The service will be followed by a gathering of friends and family at the Italian Canadian Club, 135 Ferguson St.

Ontario Veterinary College students have organized a "green ribbon" campaign in Prof. Poma's memory and as a gesture of support for his grieving family. Green ribbons can be purchased for a donation at several locations in OVC. Proceeds will go to the family. Ribbons will be available outside the OVC cafeteria during lunchtime Wednesday through Friday.
