University of Guelph professor Keith Warriner, Food Science, is emerging as one of Canada’s top experts on the new strain of E. coli. Warriner has done more than a dozen media interviews on the topic this week, including appearing on CBC-TV’s The National and live on CTV’s national news. Warriner has also appeared on CHCH TV and was featured by the Canadian Press, the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star.
Calling the disease an emerging food safety issue, Warriner says we need to know more about the pathogen, including its source and persistence in the environment.
