CUPE 1334, University Ratify Agreement

October 16, 2013 - Campus Bulletin

Members of CUPE Local 1334, representing about 230 trades, custodial and maintenance workers on campus, and the University of Guelph have ratified an agreement reached earlier this month.

In a joint message issued today, Chris Nutt, senior human resources consultant (staff relations), and Janice Folk Dawson, president of CUPE Local 1334, said:

“We are pleased that -- with the assistance of a provincially appointed mediator-- we were able to work together to reach a tentative agreement that has been ratified by our respective principals. Together we have come to an agreement that recognizes the important contributions that CUPE 1334 members make to the U of G community, within the context of the financial challenges faced by the University. Talks between the parties were open, respectful and constructive. Both bargaining teams should be commended for their hard work and dedication in reaching a renewal agreement.”
