Gryphons are Bronze at Canadian Championships

University of Guelph track and field athletes won four bronze medals at the Canadian Track and Field Championships, which were held in Moncton, New Brunswick June 27 to 29.
The annual outdoor track and field competition is organized by Athletics Canada, and serves as the Canadian national championships for the sport.
Leading the way was Gryphon Genevieve Lalonde, who was competing in her hometown and took third in the women's 3000 metre steeplechase.
Guelph’s other bronze medal winners are Ross Proudfoot, men's 1500m; Anthony Romaniw, men’s 800m, Julia Wallace, women's triple jump.
In addition, U of G‘s Carise Thompson Chris Dulhanty placed fourth in the women's 1500m and the men's steeplechase, respectively. By virtue of their performances and age, they were named to Team Canada for the North American, Central American and Caribbean Under 23 Championships, which will be held in Kamloops in August.
