Sustainability

Sustainability Matters

At the University of Guelph, our commitment to changing lives and improving life extends beyond teaching and research, to the administration and operation of the institution itself. As an academic and research leader in a multitude of areas that contribute to environmental sustainability, we recognize the importance of reducing the size of U of G’s ecological footprint.

Across campus, people are individually and collectively making changes, large and small, in an effort to place fewer demands upon the planet. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, volunteers and community partners are coming together to find ways of generating less waste and using less energy, water and other resources. Their efforts are marked by creativity, innovation, dedication and a sincere desire to safeguard the environment that sustains us all.

This report celebrates — and thanks — the University of Guelph community for all actions on behalf of sustainability, and charts our progress as we strive for a greener campus and a greener world.
