The AHL primary PCR test for Theileria is Theileria spp - PCR (testcode thsppcr). The sequencing method is used to genotype Theileria-positive samples. Sequencing analysis of the major piroplasm surface protein (MPSP) can be used to determine the genotype of Theileria spp positive samples (Oakes et al., Emerg Infect Dis. 2019).
