Course Description:
This course will introduce students to the basics of the historian’s craft, including locating, analysing, and interpreting both primary and secondary sources. It will provide you with the skills that you need to be successful in your History major, minor, or area of concentration.
Topic:
This course examines the Tudor Dynasty and its rule over England in the sixteenth century. Major themes of the course include the concept of legitimate monarchy and Empire, female rule, the English Reformation and religious settlement. Major topics will include the Wars of the Roses, the Act of Supremacy and war with Spain. Students examine primary sources relevant to Tudor England.

- Final Examination: 30%
