Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics

About the Doctor of Philosophy in Bioinformatics

In the Ph.D. program students will typically take 12 semesters to work on a traditional thesis-based research project and write a thesis. This program will provide students with the opportunity to develop research and communication skills in bioinformatics at a world-class level. Students will take at least one course and complete a qualifying exam. Students can enter the program during any semester.

Ph.D. applicants must indicate an agreed advisor at the time of application. Prospective students interested in the Ph.D. program should commence discussions with faculty well in advance of applying. Offers of admission will only be issued in cases where a member of Bioinformatics Graduate Faculty has agreed to be the advisor.
