The Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) service is provided by the Information Security team as part of our Systems Assurance mandate and maturing the Information Security roadmap at the University.
The SVA service is a tool to assist system administrators, discovering network-attached devices, new services, and exposures that system administrators and management need to be aware of.
This is offered as a free service available to any department on campus, with the ability to generate network device statistics and reports, as well as tickets for administrators, and a schedule which is designed and agreed to by the department. The service is centrally managed, and uses the powerful McAfee scan engine (MVM McAfee Vulnerability Manager) to provide weekly assessments of online systems.
