Engineering Peer Helpers
The Engineering Peer Helpers are experienced Engineering students who are here to help you.
We offer study groups to help you grasp core course concepts and to help you develop your study skills. We provide resources to give you advice and ideas on how to handle engineering classes, manage a busy course load, and make the most of your study time. We also offer workshops, and you may even see us drop by one of your classes.

Hi UofG friends! My name is Alyson, and I am thrilled to be a part of the engineering peer helper program! I believe that it is important for students to feel supported by the engineering community. My favourite course is biomechanics. I find the content interesting and enjoy studying human movements in the lab! Around campus, I spend my time studying in bright spaces, enjoying trivia nights at the Brass Taps campus pub, or playing volleyball intramurals in the AC. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything or would just like to say hi! Favourite Course: Biomechanics (ENGG*3150)

Hello! My name is Samantha Dekart, but I prefer to just go by Sam. I'm in my fifth year at Guelph studying Biological Engineering Co-op. I'm also pursuing a minor in Food Engineering because through my co-op placements, I discovered that I find food science and industrial food processing fascinating. My favourite course is bioreactor design. I enjoy understanding, improving, and designing processes involving biological materials to make valuable products. Outside of school, I enjoy running, playing intramural volleyball, traveling, and spending time with friends. I'm eager to meet you all and to help you succeed this semester!

Hey Everyone, My name is Nikola and I’m in my second year of Systems Design and Computing Engineering. As a commuter I had a tough time managing my time and creating a balanced life during my first year until I meet the peer helpers. Now I’m glad it’s my opportunity to make the lives of our future engineers just a little bit better. Excited to see you all. Favourite Course: Digital System Design (ENGG*2410)

Hey Everyone! My name's Ethan and I'm in my fourth year of Computer Engineering in the Co-op program. Being a peer helper was a no brainer for me as I enjoy helping others who are experiencing some of the same struggles that we all did in the early years of engineering. When I'm not cramming for a midterm, I love to skateboard, snowboard, rock climb, and play the drums. I look forward to meeting you in all peer helper related events! Favourite Course: Embedded Reconfigurable Computing Systems (ENGG*3050)
