Bachelor of Science - Food Science Major

Food is a multi-billion dollar industry that is influenced by changing socio-economic conditions and evolving agricultural and industrial technologies. As a BSc Food Science student, you apply chemistry, microbiology and physics to study the processing and development of food products and processes to make an impact on people’s everyday lives and see the direct applications of your work.

Food scientists fill the gap between the production of farm goods and the year-round delivery of food to the global consumer.  They are employed by all levels of the food-processing sector from entrepreneurial to multinational. Aside from making the best friends and connections with my professors, I love how everything that I’m learning can be applied in real life. Whether it is food chemistry or sensory evaluations, I can really see myself using the knowledge that I’ve gained in the future.
