Study the human mind to get a better understanding of how it works and how it affects our behaviour by analyzing the emotions, motivations and thoughts of individuals and groups.

Whether you want to learn how humans grow and develop, how we perceive our world or how the brain functions, you'll find courses and opportunities to pursue your interests in the core areas of development, social psychology, learning, perception, cognition, neuroscience, clinical psychology and mental health, personality and research methodology.

Put theories to the test through hands-on experience gained by designing your own thesis research project, supporting research in a psychology lab or learning on the job through co-op.

Why Psychology?

Learn what drives human behaviour. Every single human interaction, behaviour, thought, and feeling is associated with various facets of psychology and by studying psychology you'll start to unlock the secrets of the human mind.

In the Psychology program, you'll use different perspectives and schools of thought to look at the mind from multiple angles. Then you'll be able to put these theories into practice through course work, experiments, projects and co-op work terms to prepare you for a fulfilling career in a variety of fields such as counselling, marketing, mental health work, human resources and more.

Students in the Psychology PSYC program may also be interested in studying  Anthropology, Criminal Justice and Public Policy, Political Science, Sociology, Family Studies and Human Development, Child Studies, Neuroscience, or other majors.

The co-op program gives you the opportunity to gain relevant work experience, build professional networks and develop essential interpersonal skills needed to succeed in the workplace, all while getting paid and earning your university degree.

The psychology co-op program formally integrates your academic study with 3 work terms with related employers.
