Department of Biomedical Sciences and Department of Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences.
Coordinator: G. Partlow, O.V.C., Rm. 1685
This joint program of the Department of Biomedical Sciences and the Department of Human Biology and Nutritional Sciences focuses on the maintenance and promotion of human and animal health through the study of function (biochemistry and physiology), structure (anatomy and histology), and the basic medical sciences (epidemiology and pharmacology). It will permit graduates from this B.Sc. program to contribute to society in the area of health maintenance. It is also designed so that students can proceed to programs of professional preparation for medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry and associated fields. Additionally, the program is a good preparation for students intending to develop research careers in the medical and biological sciences. Through the use of electives, students may structure a program emphasizing nutritional sciences, principles of health and disease prevention and reproductive biology. For more information, contact the Coordinator.
