2021 Canine Cancer Request for Proposals

Description

The AKC Canine Health Foundation (CHF) has strongly supported canine cancer research since its inception in 1995. CHF continues its commitment to address canine cancer by seeking projects for critical research to diagnose, prevent and/or treat cancer in dogs. Cancers of particular interest include hemangiosarcoma and osteosarcoma; other canine cancers will also be considered. The Foundation is focused on funding research with an emphasis on mechanisms of disease, pathology and molecular basis of disease, epidemiology and environmental factors, and clinical application of research findings to prevent and treat cancer.

The mission of CHF is to advance the health of all dogs and their owners by funding sound scientific research and supporting the dissemination of health information to prevent, treat and cure canine disease. CHF supports a One Health model as a critical tool to achieving this vision, with a multidisciplinary approach to addressing the health needs of all dogs and their people. While CHF supports a One Health approach, proposed research outcomes must benefit dogs.
