Chicken Farmers of Canada (CFC).
Chicken Farmers of Canada Request for Proposals.
Each year, CFC invites researchers to submit an application for a Request for Proposal (RFP) for research in areas of particular interest to the chicken industry. CFC is requesting that interested applicants follow the submission guidelines as detailed in the Canadian Poultry Research Council’s Call for Letters of Intent (dated January 2021).
The objective of this RFP is to solicit letters of intent for:
- Evaluation of dietary additives and strategies to reduce the need for preventative anti-microbials in broiler production,
- Research on the length of downtime required for it to be an effective form of barn sanitation along with considering the impact on stocking density.
Maximum Project Value
This project funding is separate to that provided by the Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC). CFC’s contribution to the proposal will be limited to a maximum of $60,000 per project. Industry dollars, whether from CFC or other industry sources, must be matched with non-industry dollars at a ratio of at least 1:1. Higher leverage ratios are preferred.
CFC will be using the same review process that is currently being used by CPRC. CPRC will also be acting as the administrator for this project on behalf of CFC, and all contracts and reporting mechanisms will be as per CPRC protocols and policies. The successful proposal will be selected on overall value and will be at the discretion of the CFC Board of Directors.
Please note that research activities carried out in the context of COVID-19 need to adhere to the University of Guelph COVID-19 research principles, policies, guidelines and processes as they may be updated from time to time and communicated on the Office of Research web-page.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.
Please submit your completed LOI in Word format to firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive an email notification of receipt within two days of submitting your application. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact CPRC.

Submissions should be provided directly to the Bruce Roberts (email@example.com) at the Canadian Poultry Research Council.
