This funding supports projects that aim to test or develop innovative approaches to:
- build capacity within the homeless serving sector, or
- eliminate or prevent homelessness in Canada
Educational institutions are one of the organizations that are eligible to apply to the Call for Concepts. On the application, under Organization Type select “Public,” and under Organization Category select “Public degree-granting universities.”
Organizations can apply for $100,000 up to $600,000 in contribution funding over 3 years.
The overall funding available for new projects is around $6 million over 3 fiscal years:
- 2021 to 2022
- 2022 to 2023
- 2023 to 2024
40% (research contract)
Please note that research activities carried out in the context of COVID-19 need to adhere to the University of Guelph COVID-19 research principles, policies, guidelines and processes as they may be updated from time to time and communicated on the Office of Research web-page.
If College-level review is required, your College will communicate its earlier internal deadlines.

Submit your application and OR-5 form to the Office of Research Services by the internal deadline: June 3, 2021 - 4:30 pm.
Send your concept application by email to the Sponsor no later than June 10, 2021 - 11:59 pm: email@example.com
Note: You may wish to include scanned letters of support from partner organizations as part of your concept application. While the Sponsor will review letters of support (if provided), they are not required at the concept stage. Letters of support will be required at the full proposal stage.
