Now launched! European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases - Joint Transnational Call 2022    

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) continues its long-standing collaboration with the European Commission by supporting an additional joint transnational call in 2021 and anticipates four more in 2022. 

The Canadian dedicated funding will support the involvement of Canadian researchers in multinational research consortia in the following areas: neurodegenerative diseases, rare diseases, and antimicrobial resistance. Read more about CIHR dedicated funding for European programs in key research areas.

For the area of rare-disease research, the CIHR Institute of Genetics, along with Ataxia Canada, and Le Fonds de recherche du Québec-Santé (FRQ-S) are pleased to announce their collaboration with the European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases to support a new funding opportunity:  

European Joint Programme on Rare Diseases (EJP RD) Joint Transnational Call 2022: Topic - the development of new analytic tools and pathways to accelerate diagnosis and facilitate diagnostic monitoring of rare diseases. 

The call officially opened on  December 14, 2021 with a two-stage submission process: pre-proposal (Feb. 16, 2022), and full proposal (June 15, 2022). More information on the Joint Transnational Call 2022.

Please submit your pre-proposal, along with an OR-5 Form to research.services@uoguelph.ca.

External Deadline

Those invited to full application stage will work with the Office of Research Services around timelines for the review and submission of the full application documentation as required.

How to Apply

There will be a two-stage submission procedure for joint applications: pre-proposals and full proposals. 

An independent international Scientific Evaluation Committee will carry out a scientific evaluation according to specific evaluation criteria.
