Description

A number of funding opportunities exist for research focused on Parkinson's disease. Information on the individual funding opportunities can be found on the Parkinson Canada Apply for Funding website.

Request for Application(RFA) document is attached to each funding opportunity description, along with a link to the online Research Application System. Application deadlines are also listed with each description and on the Important Dates page of the Research section of this website.

All applicants are encouraged to read the Application Guidelines

Eligibility

Applications for research grants will be accepted from individuals from a broad spectrum of health-related communities and sectors, including, but not limited to, researchers, scholars and health professionals. At this time, fellowships are offered for biomedical research/clinical training only. Those currently funded by Parkinson Canada or with pending final reports from a Parkinson Canada grant or award are not eligible to apply.

Maximum Project Value

Pilot Project: Max. funding of $75,000

Basic Research Fellowship: $40,000 - $50,000 per year

1 or 2 years depending on funding opportunity

Applicant to submit complete application digitally through the Parkinson Canada online Research Application System where applicants can register and complete an application form.

  1. Register or Log In.
  2. Once you have logged in, click on the “View Awards” button and you will be directed to a menu of available awards.
  3. Click on the "Apply Now" button beside the appropriate application.  
  4. Complete the forms and requests and click “submit”

Information For Co-applicants

If you need to meet a deadline set by the lead institution for this opportunity, please ensure that you provide the Office of Research with at least five days in advance of the lead institution’s deadline to review the application, or your proposed component of the project. Please be in touch with the Office of Research (contact information below) ahead of the deadline if it looks like it will be difficult for you to submit all the required documentation on time (i.e. budget, proposal, OR-5 Form).
