Description
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is seeking proposals for research projects on the issue of immigration in Canada’s Official Language Minority Communities.
This research must enable CIC to broaden its expertise and knowledge in the field of immigration in OLMCs, in accordance with Part VII of the Official Languages Act, which states that CIC has an obligation to take positive measure to promote official languages and support the vitality of OLMCs. That research and the resulting knowledge are also intended to support CIC in its intention to achieve the objectives of the new Roadmap for Canada’s Official Languages 2013-2018: Education, Immigration, Communities.

Full time faculty
Funding Availability
CIC is looking to fund seven proposals.
Maximum Project Value
The research project must address one of the seven identified themes. Maximum project value is dependent upon theme chosen. CIC’s payment shall not exceed:
$40,000 for Themes 1, 5 and 6
$50,000 for Themes 2, 4 and 7
$30,000 for Theme 3

Project Duration
The period of the project is from the date of award to December 4, 2017.
