Description

This call is seeking proposals for innovative technologies and business models at the intersection of clean energy and agriculture in developing countries. The PAEGC supports new and sustainable approaches to accelerate the development and deployment of Clean Energy Solutions that increase agriculture productivity and/or value in developing countries. Such solutions are those that integrate clean energy technologies and business models to: (i) Enhance agricultural yields/productivity; (ii) Decrease post-harvest loss; (iii) Improve farmer and agribusiness income generating opportunities and revenues; and/or (iv) Increase energy efficiency and associated savings within the operations of farms and agribusinesses – while stimulating low carbon economic growth within the agriculture sectors of developing countries.

Eligibility

Applicants from a wide range of U.S. and non-U.S. organizations and institutions are encouraged to apply, including academic institutions.

Funding Availability

PAEGC anticipates disbursing $10,000,000 - $20,000,000 USD (approx. 10 – 20 individual awards)

Maximum Project Value

  • Window 1 Awards (Clean Energy Solution – Design): up to $500,000|
  • Window 2 Awards (Clean Energy Solution – Scale-up/Commercial Growth): from $500,000 to $2,000,000 USD

CONCEPT NOTES - INTERNAL DEADLINE to Office of Research Services: Please submit your Concept Note, along with an OR-5 Form to research.services@uoguelph.ca  two weeks in advance of the anticipated submission date to the sponsor (note: this call is open from December 8, 2014 to February 12, 2015). If submitting proposals to meet the external deadline of February 12, 2015, the internal deadline to the Office of Research will be January 29, 2015.
