Intellectual Property Policy

As per the Policy on Intellectual Property, approved June 5, 2014 at the University of Guelph, intellectual property is owned by those who create it, unless otherwise restricted by contractual or funding terms. For more details, please refer to the

As per Article 52 of the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) Collective Agreement, UGFA members have the right to retain ownerhship of IP that they have created, unless otherwise restricted by contractual or funding terms. For more details, please refer to the complete UGFA collective agreement [2].

All inventors may choose to assign IP ownership to the University.
