Disability Accommodation

The University of Guelph is committed to providing accommodation for disability to current and prospective students, staff and faculty, and to visitors to the University. Its initiatives in this regard are guided by the Ontario Human Rights Code , the Ontarions with Disabilities Act, 2001, the Accessibility for Ontarions with Disabilities Act, 2005 and the University's Human Rights Policy and Employment Equity Policy. Information and links to accessibility-related items at the University can be found on our accessiblity website. This website also contains information and links for community resources as well as more general information.

In 2002 the University established the Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities Advisory Committee (APDAC), which, in consultation with the Human Rights and Equity Office, works to develop a planning process to create and maintain an accessible and inclusive campus environment, to heighten awareness, and to coordinate efforts and prioritize resolution of accessibility issues across the entire University community, including the regional colleges. APDAC reports annually on its activities, and the reports can be accessed by following the links on the right hand side of this page.
