Eduroam [11] is a wireless network service that allows members of Canadian educational institutions [12] to securely access the Internet while visiting other member universities by using login credentials from their home institution.
The network access that is available is provided at the discretion of the host institution. At the very minimum, Eduroam supports web browsing (HTTP or HTTPS), secure shell (SSH), and Virtual Private Network (VPN). There is no guarantee that Eduroam will provide the same access to resources as your home institution’s wireless network.
There is no charge for this service.
Support for Eduroam connectivity must be provided by your home institution. Institutions hosting Eduroam connectivity are not required to provide support to visitors.
University of Guelph users must contact the CCS Help Centre [13] for support.
Note: If you experience problems with the Eduroam service at the institution you are visiting, you may not be able to connect to the CCS Help Centre [13]. Therefore, you should note their phone number and email address before traveling.
If you need help or have questions about the service, please email us at IThelp@uoguelph.ca or check our CCS Help Services page for more ways to contact us:

There may be scheduled maintenance or a service issue occurring. Please refer to CCS System Status Page for more information:
Depends on the institution providing the service.
Prior to traveling, you should configure your computer to connect to the institution you will be visiting. If you need assistance, contact the CCS Help Centre [13].
Use JoinNow [15] or Eduroam profile [16] utility and follow the instructions to connect your device to eduroam. The same instructions [17] for synchronising your password and configuring your computer for uog-wifi-secure also apply to eduroam. When you enter your username at login, ensure that it includes your full domain name (for example, username@uoguelph.ca). For University of Guelph Students, use the @uoguelph.ca domain, not the @mail.uoguelph.ca domain.
To configure your devices not supported by JoinNow, use the information in the following table.
