There are three different wireless networks on campus that vary depending on how you are affiliated with the university. The Library, University Centre, and most public buildings and residences on campus offer wireless access from all three networks.
The use of personal wireless routers in residences is prohibited, as they interfere with the signal of the University provided access points.
Students, Staff and Faculty
uog-wifi-secure [1] is the University's wireless network. This is the recommended connection for all Students, Staff and Faculty of Univeristy of Guelph.
Note: With the exception of Open Learning Students who need to receive a semester long Guest Account [2] for wireless access.
Academic Visitors
Eduroam [3] is the secure, world-wide roaming wireless network for members of the education community. If you are affiliated with another university, you may have access to eduroam. Search for Eduroam on your home university's website for logon instructions. University of Guelph Students, Staff and Faculty automatically have access to Eduroam as well.
Guests of the University
uog-guest [2] is the University's Guest Access wireless network. This network is intended for use by visitors to the University who do not have an account at another University.
If you need a Guest Account [2] to access wireless, visit the Ask Us Desk on the first floor of the McLaughlin Library with valid photo ID.
