As of: December 15, 2017
In the summer of 2016, Computing and Communications Services and Physical Resources, with the support of Student Housing, began Phase 1 of the Wireless Expansion Project and installed new Wireless Access Points (WAPs) throughout student residence buildings on campus, allowing for easily accessible WiFi in dorm rooms and common areas. Phase 1 is now complete.
Phase 2 is currently underway with the collaboration of Physical Resources and Classroom Scheduling. It involves the installation of over 900 new WAPs in more than 50 buildings across campus. These pages will be updated as buildings are completed and wireless coverage areas are enabled. You can see the details of the schedule at Wireless Expansion – Phase 2 [1].

Where Can I Find WiFi?
Wireless network service (WiFi) is available in most buildings on campus. Please see the links below for a complete listing of WiFi coverage on all U of G campuses. Although wireless service may extend beyond these areas, devices for transmitting and receiving WiFi signals (Wireless Access Points or WAPs) are only located inside buildings, so it’s unlikely that you can maintain coverage between buildings. Many factors such as distance, interference from other electronic devices, or denser material such as concrete or steel between you and the WAP, can also reduce or obstruct the signal.
“Building-wide" coverage means that wireless coverage includes all residence rooms, classrooms, offices, laboratories and common areas. Stairwells, elevators, maintenance rooms and exterior areas are not included, unless specifically listed.
