Meet Canada’s Nutrition Labelling Requirements
We create NFTs for foods and supplemented foods for the following nutrients:
GFIC can assess whether or not your product requires the new front-of-package (FOP) label based on your product’s classification, list of ingredients, and nutritional content (i.e., saturated fat, sugar, and sodium content).
Our NFT Methods
There are two NFT options that exist: Analytical and Calculated NFT methods. If your product is a good fit for both methods, they are both equally legitimate and result in the same type of compliant NFT. Sometimes, one method is preferred based off of the product type.
GFIC uses your product formulation to quickly deliver compliant, bilingual NFTs without the need for laboratory testing. We conduct a formulation-based nutrient calculation using standardized Canadian databases and your ingredient specification sheets for accurate results.
This calculated NFT method is best for stable, low-risk foods products that don’t change significantly during processing (like sauces, granola, frozen meals, and soup). This is not suitable for products experiencing a significant chemical or physical change during the manufacturing process (i.e., baking, frying, fermenting, brining, and curing), and products that intend to have a Canadian food claim.

Complete project payment.
Wait for ~3-7 business days for your NFT(s), list of ingredients, list of allergens, and FOP label (if applicable) to be created.
Use your final report and NFT(s) for your packaging and/or marketing materials!
