Marion Joppe, a professor within the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, has recently been appointed to chair the Marketing Metrics Committee of the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership (OTMPC).  A call for nominations was sent out to the industry, but Professor Joppe was approached directly by the OTMPC to stand for the position. 

The Marketing and Metrics Committee works with the Board of Directors to direct OTMPC’s overall strategies and operations by providing leadership, maintaining accountability  for its programs and facilitating government and private stakeholder marketing efforts.  Joppe will be working with an illustrious group of industry leaders in her role as chair for the Committee.

Along with serving as a faculty member for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Professor Joppe  has served as the Chair of the Ministry of Tourism’s Research Committee for a number of years.  Joppe also works as a Graduate Faculty at the University of Waterloo, serves as President of the Travel and Tourism Research Association for the Canada Chapter and serves on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Travel Research.  The College of Management and Economics and The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management are quite impressed with Professor Joppe’s accomplishments and her dedication to the Marketing industry.
