    Research Statement

I am a Full Professor, Statistician, and Interdisciplinary Researcher in the School of Computer Science at the University of Guelph. I have four major research programs that are interdisciplinary and community-engaged, and that span computer science, statistics, public health, pedagogy/andragogy, and natural resource management. I have worked with government agencies, not-for-profits and charitable organizations, industry, indigenous communities, and academic partners. I have trained numerous undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. Since 2016, my research programs have been awarded more than $5 million in funding, with more than half of this as Principal Investigator. I was named one of Ontario's most outstanding university teachers by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations.
