Hands-on Learning
Master of Engineering Management coursework combines evidence-based management with real-world application to provide specialized training that supports managerial decision-making. In the Engineering Management Capstone course (ENGG*6940), students explore emerging research topics through academic and industry speakers and culminate their learning with a case study simulation, presenting solutions to faculty and industry professionals.

What you will learn – course outline
The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program requires that students complete nine courses (minimum 4.5 credits) including a final capstone course.
Masters students in MEM must complete the following:
1.5 credits from the Restricted Electives list (one 0.5 credit Management and two 0.5 credit Engineering courses):
Students may choose to take additional technical or MEM restricted elective courses to suit their focus.
Program Information
Applicants must meet the following minimum admission requirements:
- An honours engineering degree with a minimum B- or 70% average in the past four full semesters or the last two complete undergraduate years or the equivalent;
- Statement of Interest: Applicants must outline their interest in the Master of Engineering Management degree and state their objectives for undertaking a Master’s program in their Statement, 1/2-1 page single-spaced.
- Students whose first language is not English are required to submit an English Proficiency Test result with their application.
GMAT/GRE score is not required.
OUAC application deadlines are currently posted as the following:
Fall semester (September entry): March 1st for international applicants, May 1st for domestic applicants
Winter semester (January entry): July 1 for international applicants and September 1 for domestic applicants.
*We strongly encourage International applicants to apply a minimum of 6-9 months in advance of the start of the program to allow time for application processing and to ensure study permits can be obtained in time for admission. The Master of Engineering Management program at the University of Guelph is a self-funded program. Students may be eligible to apply for Graduate Teaching Assistantships.

Master of Engineering Management students complete 4.5 credits (9 courses) over 4 semesters. M.E.M. program tuition is billed on a per-credit basis.

Select courses are offered in Distance Education format. The entry requirements are set to ensure sufficient depth in engineering knowledge so that incoming students are prepared to succeed in the program, so an honours engineering degree is required.
No. You do not need to identify a supervisor. A faculty supervisor is not a program requirement for the MEM program.
GMAT/GRE: Not required for this program.
WES Reports: Not required for this program.
Yes, part-time study is an option. Registering as a part-time student may impact the eligibility for international students to gain a post-graduate work permit upon graduation.
Yes. If your first language is not English, you will be required to submit the results of a standardized language test*. Learn more about the University's requirements here: English Language Proficiency.
*Please note: The English test may not be more than two years old at the time of admission. The proof of English proficiency requirement may be waived ONLY in exceptional circumstances. That is, applicants may be eligible for an English Waiver who have conferred a four-year undergraduate degree in an accredited university where English is the language of instruction AND in a country where English is the native language (e.g. Canada, UK, USA, Australia, etc.). Other English Waivers will NOT be accepted.
