As a part of the University of Guelph’s Real Estate Land Use Vision and Strategy the following projects will be initiated within the next 1-10 years to address the University’s most urgent needs and priorities.

College Ave. W. and McGilvray St. (first-year student residence)

The University has earmarked a vacant plot of land at the intersection of College Ave. W. and McGilvray St. in hopes of building a student residence in the next 5 years. Conceptual designs envision two buildings on the site that could accommodate up to 1,500 students.

Wellington Woods West (student-housing)

Through a multi-phase redevelopment of Wellington Woods, this site will eventually be home to more than 2,200 beds, in diverse housing types, from studios that would be best suited for upper-year undergraduate and graduate students to townhomes best suited for students with families.

U of G is looking to create an eight-storey residence at Gordon St. and College Ave. W., offering 280 self-contained studio units geared towards graduate and upper-year undergrads, with retail, a lecture hall, study spaces, and vibrant campus life amenities.

The reimagined Puslinch Farm will serve as a hub for regenerative agriculture, ag-tech, and biodiversity research, integrating private sector innovation with restored heritage farmhouses and labs, all within a diverse ecological landscape that includes protected species habitats and forest ecosystems.
